Antonio Romero is a multidisciplinary artist who has developed his career mainly as a Composer/Sound Designer. He has written scores for feature films, documentaries, and podcasts. His work has been featured on HBO, NETFLIX, Amazon Prime, and on numerous TV commercial ads for world-recognized brands like Porsche, Samsung, American Express, Coca-Cola, General Motors, Citibank, among many others. He is recipient of ANDA and FIAP awards, the most recognized advertising awards in Venezuela and Ibero-America.
As a result of his deep love for American music, Antonio moved to Austin-Texas in 2013 and since then he is an active member of the local music scene. Currently, he spends his time writing music for sync and licensing, collaborating with other artists, and as an audio post-production expert.
He has worked and collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists and producers like Kim Deschamps (Cowboy Junkies/Blue Rodeo), Bob Katz (Mastering Engineer), Ross Petersen (Sheryl Crow, John Mayer), Javier Weyler (The Stereophonics), Juan Perro (Radio Futura), Erik Aldrey (GRAMMY Nominee Engineer) and Mauricio Arcas (Los Amigos Invisibles), among many others.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
After finishing Audio Engineering and Music Production school, he started his career working as a Foley artist for a TV production company. Then, continued scaling positions as a Foley recordist, music & effects editor, dialogue editor, and mix engineer. He worked at several cable TV stations where he mixed more than 300 episodes of TV shows and documentaries aired from Mexico to Argentina. A few years later he was working for several music composers/producers including award-winning composer Vinicio Adames, as a music programmer, synthesizer programmer, vocal producer, and recording/mix engineer.
Antonio has produced and released albums as a solo artist, and as a bandleader with his former project Greasy Grapes. The band played a blend of roots, folk, Americana and rock & roll, and gained the appreciation of industry insiders and music fans of the genre around the world. Also, he has contributed with many other artists as a producer/engineer and session guitarist. He is a former band member of Vinehouse, Runaway Jane, and Julian Acosta & The Hustle, and has shared stage with artists like Jimmie Vaughan and Bob Schneider.
Antonio is a Grammy voting member of the GRAMMY NARAS and LARAS, Producers & Engineers Wing, and The Recording Academy Texas Chapter and also a BMI affiliated songwriter.
